audubon aquarium of the americas- new orleans, LA
Located on the Mississippi River, adjacent to the French Quarter, the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas immerses you in the underwater worlds of the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. A walk-through tunnel, sting ray touch tank, and 400,000 gallon Gulf of Mexico exhibit are features of the aquarium. Sea turtles, penguins, parakeets, and sharks are features of the most popular exhibits.
Although it was renovated after Hurricane Katrina, the Audubon Aquarium looks and feels dated and lacks signage on many tanks. |

Mora river aquarium- portugal
Mora River Aquarium's barn-shaped construction is one of its sustainable features. The 230,000 square foot facility is embedded in the Mora River Ecological Park and incorporated seamlessly into the bio-diverse Iberian RIver. The white concrete trusses that surround the structure, ventilation system, and water circuits reduce the building's energy consumption. The facility's water comes from a well on the site and is regenerated after use, reducing water consumption. The grey and black interior contrasts the white exterior and minimizes the UV impact on the living creatures.
